Jason has been accepted
t0 the
BYU Counseling PhD program!!!
He has worked so hard from this. For those of you who have applied for Grad school -- you know it is a seriously arduous task.
Jason started studying for the GRE back in June of last year, and we started applications around October. He has been involved in Research and Clinical experience, and retook the GRE once, all so that he could be competitive enough to make it into Grad school.
EIGHT MONTHS later -- we have an acceptance. I am so proud of him!
We are still weighing our options -- We haven't heard back from a few other schools yet -- but my bet is we will be staying here. I am so excited to stay in Utah and be close to my family. Plus -- I get to keep my job :) So....for my selfish reasons it is great!
Also, for Jason it is great. It is only about a 5 year program and they focus heavily on counseling and clinical work -- opposed to tons and tons of research -- so it is a perfect fit. Hopefully the Lord sees it that way as well!
It's just so great to know that we have a least one option -- and a great one at that! I am just so grateful to the Lord for all that he has blessed us with.
Life is really great, and I am so blessed to be married to such a great man who love me so much, and works so hard for the two of us and our future family!

Congratulations! I hope that everything turns out the best for the both of you. It's always tough getting through hurdles, but when you look back you realize you are always given what you need. Next time I'm north I am definitely going to have to get in touch with you. Its been way too long. Love ya!

Congrats!!!
I'm just happy that you are excited! And sad that we're in different RSs so I didn't hear this in Good News Minute!
Congratulations Jason and Shandra! That is so wonderful! We were praying that this would happen for you!
SO happy for you!! Plus, if you do go to BYU, we can see you when we visit Ian's family in Heber and we can see you when you visit Jason's family is Mesa. That sounds AWESOME to me.
I think it's time for a new post that says you rocked your competition!!
