Wedding plans!

So things are coming along great...I'm settled up in here in Provo -- well semi -- Jason and I are looking for a place to live now, still looking for a few extra days of work, and planning for the wedding :)

For all those who are interested...the wedding date is July 18, 2009 in the St. George Temple @ 11:20! It's going to be amazing! The plans are coming along well. My bouquet is going to be red roses and white calla lilies, the colors are red, black, and white. My dress is being made/re-made from one of my sister's dresses, and she just went to Spain and bought me some lace for the bodice...So I'll have Spanish Lace on my dress...isn't that fun? We are going to have the fitting and consultation session next weekend! I am so excited :)

We are having the reception in my parents church house...so any suggestions on making it look as un-culterahall-esque would be wonderful :) I'm thinking lots of fabric (tulle) and ribbons with lots of flowers and greenery. Seriously...any suggestions would be wonderful!! It is a lot of fun though!

Hmm, decorations? My mom rented a picket fence and I had these awesome arches that we decorated with ivy. And at my sister-in-laws wedding, they took the tulle and ran it from a large center pillar out to some smaller ones on the sides with lots of white lights underneath it. They also took a ton a picture frames and easels and put pictures around the room. Think smaller and maybe only use half of the cultural hall, that way you don't have to decorate as much. Good luck. I will mark the date down and try to be there!

Hey Shandra! Congrats on the wedding! My tip for ya...don't use the lighting in the cultural hall. Use twinkle lights or a lot of lamps. The artificial lights they have in there make for not-so-great pictures. Good luck on the rest of the planning!

We used Shara's Wedding Arts for our decorating (ours was in the bare-bones Gardner Center, and we loved what she did) IDK if she's still here in SG: 229-2640. She had pretty reasonable prices.

As for flowers and greenery, we ordered from Costco. You can still get the 2 dozen roses for $15, but you can specify colors, date delivered (fresh!), and filler you also want. IDK if the lady doing it 3 years ago still does it, but her number is: 862-3462.

Good luck!

Exciting! This is random, but I just saw some reception decorations for rent on craigslist.com in the general section, and I thought they were great... check it out out!

We're going to be in Idaho all of July. Bummer! I won't be able to come, but I know it will be amazing, and I'm so happy for you both. (Cute header picture, btw!)
